Moving Again?!

Perhaps I should've changed my site to "The DIY Nomad" instead. donkey carrying load moving apartments The Decor GuruBecause of some big maintenance issues with the apartment I moved into this summer, I will again be moving into a new place. I'm able to end my lease early and get outta here. This time, it will be a totally different location, totally different management, and totally different style of apartment. (Hey, I can't just do it half-assed, right?!) Oh, and I can paint the walls in this new place---NICE!

So far, I’m feeling pretty upbeat about it. That’s probably due to the fact I’m just ecstatic to get out of this place before my lease ends in June. Also, I plan on hiring movers to assist with this transition. Four years ago I hired movers for the first time and it was freakin awesome! Moving is challenging as it is, so taking out the work of hauling everything was great. One of the best ways I’ve ever spent a few hundred dollars.

The big move is anticipated for the end of next month, so in the meantime I’m going to pack up as much as I can. This means I probably won’t be posting new material on The DIY Homegirl for a bit. But to help ease you through this period, I will be highlighting some past posts and DIY projects from the past that you may have missed.

It will be an exciting way to end this year and begin 2014. In spite of how much work it will be, I look forward to it!

Do you like moving? Do you have any moving tips or packing tips?

Thanks for visiting! Let’s stay connected!

  1. Well…the last time I moved was Christmas Eve Day and I will never move during a holiday again!! I moved from an upstairs, 2 bedroom apartment into a one story home that was only about a 10 minute drive. But after countless trips and not a whole lotta help (it was a holiday after all), it was not the best moving experience. I think hiring movers is a great idea!!
